Highlights from the PRIOR release, OLAPObjects for TM1 4.11
With OLAPObjects Publisher 4.1 and 4.11, the OLAPObjects for TM1 suite has moved firmly
beyond mere web publishing to becoming a true development environment for
creating rich and flexible web based budgeting (and other) applications. Web
pages created using OLAPObjects Publisher are now much more dynamic, while the
act of designing and publishing a web page from Excel continues to be simple
and intuitive. Here are some highlights:
-
Long comments. The worksheet functions OOTEXTR() and OOTEXTS() can now be used to read and store
long (longer than 255 characters) text in TM1.
-
Support for integrated login. (Sometimes referred to as "single sign on").
-
Significant extensions to the dynamic reporting capabilities.
The SubsetExpand and SubsetExpand_ViewBased features enable developers to create
interactive dynamic web pages with expanding rows or columns. With 4.11 several new
capabilities have been added including paging, support for MDX expressions to define
dimension subsets and support for TM1 8.4x dimension display styles.
A major advantage of paging is rendering speed - the developer now has control of how many
lines are shown at a time. This control can also be passed on to the user.
The MDX support gives the developer the ability to modify subsets in real time.
-
Extended MDX Support. Besides being supported for dynamic reporting (using
SubsetExpand and SubsetExpand_ViewBased), SUBNM formulas now accept MDX expressions instead of
subsets. While these SUBNM formulas will only work on the web, they provide a way of controlling
the contents of drop down boxes on the web that goes beyond dynamic subsets. Most powerful is the
fact that SUBNM contents can now be parameterized in real time.
-
Ability to Hide Excel toolbar. A setting in the OLAPObjects.ini file can be used to prevent the
Excel OLAPObjects Publisher toolbar from loading. OLAPObjects.ini can also be used for customizing the
Excel, TM1 and OLAPObjects Publisher menus.
-
Parameter passing. The ability to pass parameters from web page to web page using the
new OOQueryData() function.
-
OLAPObjects Utilities extension.
The Loop Through Elements utility (formerly distributed within CRA Utilities) has been extended to allow
the printing of a page number in an end user defined location
